Great for any pups birthday!

I saw this cute pup toy and I got this for my Jasmine. It sings happy birthday every time she slams it down and it lightly vibrates. The bottom of the cake has a velcro seam that you have to open to access the battery pack inside. Pull the plastic tab out of the battery terminal and pinch it together and it will start singing. Put the mechanism back inside and velcro it shut then toss it to em'. The material is soft cotton and it is very plushy. Jasmine ripped the candle part off immediately.

Nice quality materials and durable as dog toy.

Fun little birthday toy for a fur baby. The craftsmanship on this is excellent and durable, doesn't break or tear easily, so dogs can play with it for hours. The added sound is nice, although a puppy may be scared of it.

Birthday cake plushie

Even though this arrived late after my dogs birthday, she was still thrilled to open one more present. The plush/fleece exterior is right up her alley and she seems to enjoy the happy birthday song. Size is accurate to the listing images and I think realistically any size dog could pick this up and tote it around. However smaller dogs will have to use the strawberry or candles on top to pick it up and may struggle a bit to get the song going (it takes a decent amount of pressure and their small jaw may not do the trick.) . A medium to large dog wont have any trouble biting down enough to get the happy bday song playing.
When this arrives you have to remove the little music player from inside and pull the plastic tab to get it going. If you ever get sick of hearing the song, youll have to remove the music player completely or you could save that plastic tab and re-insert it. I would definitely suggest supervised play only while that little plastic music box is inside, but if you remove it altogether you shouldnt have to worry much about safety.
I did try to put some small treats inside but she shook them loose in less than a second. I guess you could shove treats inside and close the Velcro to make it more of a challenge, but I dont want to bring that part of the toy to her attention. If I did, she would focus all her energy on chewing it open and the music player would never survive.
Ultimately I think this is a cute toy, great for a special birthday gift and maybe bday photos if your dog sits still for that sort of thing. Its definitely not a good idea if your dog is a super chewer though. Considering the higher price tag (23.99 at time of purchase) I think this definitely isnt going to be for everyone. If you dont mind the price tag, go for itotherwise maybe keep shopping. Its just a regular mediocre dog toy aside from the bday song. This is just an ehhhh for me but my dog does enjoy it so ****shrugs***

The Min
Photo Opp item that larger dogs will enjoy more

The Happy Birthday song was working as it exited the box even though the battery tab was in. The dog noticed, and with curiosity triggered reached out to grab it by the candle. Its too big to fit in smaller dogs mouths, but a 50+ lbs dog could probably get the squeaker to work. The size and shape are awkward for smaller dogs limited to the cupcake decorations on top for grabbing. Its more of a single use photo opp item with a smaller dog; replacing the song unit with treats was short lived as a quick shake got them all out. Larger dogs that can make the squeaker inside work may enjoy it after youre removed the song unit (so its not chewing on the battery), but its designed more for curious chewers than aggressive ones.
If youre going to have a little party or want a photo opp, this is a reasonable purchase, but due to the challenges of the cupcake shape wouldnt buy it as a toy alone.
